MCC Netball was established in 2011 and has 50 players across five teams.
We compete in the Parkville Netball Competitions at the State Netball Centre and are led by the club's head coach, Jo Hockley, supported by four team coaches.
Our top three teams play in Premier divisions on Tuesday evenings, with the other two teams competing in Monday night open grades. Trainings are held each Thursday evening at Oakleigh Recreation Centre.
MCC Netball is focused on providing an enjoyable, healthy and vibrant netball club through our core values of: Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Participation, Performance and Fun.
The MCC Netball committee strives to create a culture that prioritises player development and enjoyment, encouraging all members to engage with the club. With an emphasis on fun and club connection, we have a range of social events throughout the year, including footy functions at the MCG, trivia nights, SSN netball events, and our end of season presentation night.
We encourage keen netballers looking for a supportive club to register their interest here.
Our History
Initially a special interest group, three MCC teams entered the Parkville Netball Competitions enjoying immediate success by winning the 2011 Monday night open A1 premiership in their inaugural season.
Netball’s place within the MCC was recognised when granted Sporting Section status in 2013. The number of teams soon grew to five and in the spring of 2014, an undefeated season by the MCC 1 side was capped off with the Premier Open Division 3 title.
Our MCC 1 side now competes in the Premier Open Division 1 and in 2021 took out the Division 1 Premiership. We are incredibly proud of our club’s growth and success over the last ten years.
The Melbourne Cricket Club Netball Section is affiliated with, but a separate legal entity to, the Melbourne Cricket Club.
