AUTUMN SEASON RECAP

Each of our fantastic coaches and one team manager have provided some oftheir personal commentary on how teams went this season and three words to describe each team :)

MCC 1 finished 4th on the ladder and were defeated in their semi-final

Head Coach Robyne Dawson on MCC 1's season:

"MCC 1 were very receptive to implementing new ideas. They had a high fitness level. They never dropped their heads. Young players stepped up. Opposition teams took them very seriously. Throughout the season they improved in reducing unforced errors by being composed and making better decisions.

Memorable moment of the season was MCC 1 scoring 50 goals and winning all four quarters against a new team inthe Premier Division 1 competition who had a number of VNL players.

Three words to describe MCC 1...United, Composed, Determined, Creative, I need four words."

MCC 2 finished 6th on the ladder

Head Coach Robyne Dawson on MCC 2's season:

"MCC 2 are workhorses, they kept at it all season - the centre court really clicked, defence end of things with Sara , Jess and Laura were rarely beaten. Overall the team improved in working together to create turnovers, which is very pleasing for a coach. Nicky held the fort in the goaling end, liningup with a different goaler teammate nearly every week!

Memorable moment of the season was beating teams in the second half of the year who had beaten us half - very satisfying.

Three words to describe MCC 2...teamwork, perseverance, hardworkers."

MCC 3 finished 10th on the ladder

Coach Cassy Cayzer on MCC 3's season:

"MCC 3 had a challenging season but came together and adapted to the numerous fill ins and changes to the team throughout the season. Overall defence was where we had big improvements - specifically in the circle but also whole team defence down the court.

A memorable moment was when the team tried to help Mel patch up her forehead after she tried to take a chunk out of it with her own nail. The girls were all laughing though veryconcerned and it was great to see them coming together to care for one of their own.

Three words to describe MCC 2...Ever-growing team list"

MCC 4 finished 7th on the ladder

Coach, Michelle Stabb, on MCC 4's season:

"MCC 4 always show support for one another as a team, their resilience throughout the season was impressive. Through the attack end, goalers in particular, we had a game the girls weren’t happy with and the focus at following training was focussed on our goalers & it then showed in the following games.

A memorable moment was borne out of an unfortunate incident where Tayla injured herself just before half time & couldn't continue the game. We were left with 7 players & only 1 goaler, however Flip then stepped in to GS (from GK)and shot with 99% accuracy, Georgie L movedinto defence and did a great job in circle defense & rebounds - it was a great example of the team's ability to adapt - and a huge bonus that they won the game!

Three words to describe MCC 4...Positive, vibrant, talented"

MCC 5 finished 5th on the ladder

Team Manager, Kal Ramani, on MCC 5's season

"MCC 5 came to every game ready to get on court and work hard. The team, led by captain Georgie Bevan, had a fantastic season, finishing equal on points with the team in 4th place but missing out on goaling percentage. However the improvements through out the season in defence and passing down the court to create turnover and goaling was phenomenal, with Alisha and Georgie getting near perfect accuracy in the last few games.

A memorable moment was the round 8 win where we finally had a strong team flow on court - from the defence end attempting split ring, mid-court moving the ball down to thegoalers who had insane accuracy - it was after this win, we started to recognise that we were capable of qualifying for finals and that was the really memorable part.

Three words to describe MCC 5... Stay wild on-court"
